Review of GODDESSES CAN WAIT

Image
Review of Goddesses Can Wait Jordan is recovering from her harrowing adventure going head to head with the Egyptian goddess Hathor, and a trip to Paris is exactly what is needed.  After all, Paris is the most Audrey Hepburn place on earth.  Jordan and her best friend accompany Jordan’s grandmother across the Atlantic so that grandmother Lake can rediscover her past away from the grip of Hathor’s magic.  Unfortunately for Jordan, that could mean more enchanted objects and more goddesses.  And more goddesses is exactly what Jordan gets. Jordan meets the man of her dreams, but she finds that instead of a summer fling, she experiences a Freaky Friday body swap with the Greek goddesses Aphrodite.  Meeting famous Greek mythological characters like the muses and Ares.  Jordan has to get her body back, but that means trapping a escaped goddess, and that is never easy. I definitely felt Goddesses Can Wait met and matched the quality and fun of book one, N

GODDESSES CAN WAIT Book blog Tour Day 6-Review of NO MORE GODDESSES

Review of  No More Goddesses Jordan has a romantic heart and a deep love of everything Audrey Hepburn.  One day, Jordan discovers that her grandmother is keeper of a gorgeous bracelet and a secret: that one of Audrey’s roles, the main in Tessa’s Treasure, was based on reality, and this reality featured none other than a great aunt Jordan never knew.  What appears to be a lovely vintage bracelet, reminiscent of all the romantic happenings of Audrey’s cinematic life, soon turns out to be very un-fortuitous for Jordan.  The bracelet has the power to give love, which Jordan is at first fascinated by because she has her heart set on a certain boy she previously thought was out of her league. High school girls always love a good romantic story.  But this was before Jordan knew there was a vengeful Goddess, Hathor, eager to play around with the mortals in possession of her bracelet.  By the time Jordan realizes that the bracelet is not all fun and games, it was too late.  The brace

GUEST POST The Myths are dead...not! Myths are common to all cultures and that since the beginning of time they have been used to explain the world. In elementary school, we went over Greek mythology. I loved the stories of the gods and goddesses. One of my favorite stories had to be Pandora’s Box. The whole premise of not opening a box, intrigued me. Why would the gods insist not to open it? What secrets did the box hold? I couldn’t help but know I would have opened that box too. In  Goddesses Can Wait , I did my own twist on this tale. Only in this case when my character Jordan opens the box, she releases Aphrodite and havoc erupts. Rick Riordan of  The Olympians  series did a lot to reinvigorate the ancient myths for the middle-grade set. My son loved these stories, especially the idea of a protagonist, Percy, having ADHD. The author shows this as a strength that helps Percy battle the Greek gods. Most of the demigods have ADHD or dyslexia which helps them dec

Goddesses Can Wait (Myths and Mayhem #2) by Kim Baccellia Genre: YA Fantasy Jordan Lake, a fifteen-year-old Audrey Hepburn-olic who’s a magnet for goddesses, has a chance to go to Paris with her grandmother and BFF Selena Garza. Even though she senses something is off, she decides to make the trip. But when she kisses a cute Parisian boy a la Roman Holiday, she switches bodies with Aphrodite and is sent to the Greek netherworld. She must enlist the help of the Greek god (in more ways than one) Ares then complete seven trials set by his sister Artemis in order to return home. Except time is running out, and if she can’t get Aphrodite back to the Eiffel Tower by midnight, she’ll be stuck in Greek mythology forever. Amazon Barnes & Noble IndieBound Book Depository The Excerpt My fingers brushed against the wooden box. I pulled it out. A slight tingle vibrated through my fingers. Not unpleasant, still it felt as if I’d shocked myself. I gasped, dropping the box. I winced, fear

Kim is the author of books such as NO MORE GODDESSES and GODDESSES CAN WAIT. Kim is giving away these two books at LitPick( https://litpick.com/request-giveaway-book ), so be sure to enter for your chance to win! ***How did you get started writing? My fifth teacher, Mrs. Clements, encouraged my writing with positive suggestions. I also wrote tons of poetry in high school. I was able to put down how I was felt without the fear of being judged. I would write my thoughts in notebooks that I carried with me. I also wrote lots of fanfiction based on my favorite TV series. ***Who influenced you? When I was a bilingual teacher, there was a resource teacher at my school who wrote romances. She’d share her experiences and journey with all of us in the teacher’s lounge. My favorite subject in my own classroom had to be wri

1. Been working hard on revision. Got some very helpful advice and feedback on fleshing out my characters more and adding Sci-Fi elements to my story. Goal is to continue to work on this during the summer and then go back to my romance set in Italy. Seriously, I've been working on this revision FOREVER. 1. First off, got this Litpick review: https://litpick.com/review/goddesses-can-wait-volume-2-review-thudson36 Here's part of the review: T his novel is fast-paced and easy to read, which I enjoyed. I never found myself bored while reading. I also enjoyed the tidbits of Greek mythology information the author gave, and you can tell she had done plenty of research on the topic. This novel is a sequel to  No More Goddesses  by Kim Baccellia. However, you do not necessarily have to read the first novel to understand this one. It would give you a better idea of the characters, their relationships, and their backstory. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone looking for an action-packed story. 2. Been working on strengthening my revision. I swear though it seems like this revision is never ending! The feedback I've been receiving has been great. I've also learned it's 'okay' not to use every piece of advice especially if
