Pandemic Edition Tuesday March 17th, 2020

1. So more and more places are asking to close restaurants, bars, and social gatherings. At 12pm PST New York governor is asking for his residents to do a shelter in place for three weeks. Already the major in San Francisco is doing this. Fellow author Heidi R. Kling is sharing her experiences during this time, plus offering a free serial.

**Update as of 7:00pm PST-California governor new rules include this:

All bars, restaurants, and 'non-essential places' are closed. Restaurants can have pick-up/drive through services. Gyms are closed-including my favorite yoga studio-YogaWorks. Joanne's classes are all canceled till April. Rumors are circulating around that LA might do a shelter in place.

Ideas that are floating right now in Senate include: giving every adult $1000 and child $500 to help during these coming weeks. Having the National Guard called in to help with numerous things like getting food to the elderly; children on free lunches; and other things.

2. Later today California governor will discuss more detailed plans on what will happen in my state.

3. Ok, one HUGE thing that has been bugging me is how crazy people are out there. I'm still immobile, so husband's been shopping. Yesterday there was absolutely no milk, eggs, ground hamburger in the stores. People were impatient and rude. Son works at Chick Fil A. After Trump's announcement to not have any social gathers with more than 10 people meant drive through only at his store. Some people, including this one woman, shouted, screamed at son and fellow workers because either they 1) didn't get order right 2)not fast enough 3) mix up on order and demanded a 'free' meal 4) and like that one woman, refused to get out of line when all she wanted was a decaf coffee.

So if you're going to grocery shopping or do pick up/drive through at a local fast food place?

Please be kind. Please be civil. If you don't have anything nice to say, be quiet.

Remember it's not that clerk's fault there's no toilet paper. It's not that fast food workers fault that the lines are HUGE and they're not fast enough.

Please be kind.

Here's an example of kindness:

4. Physical therapy session today

I was the only patient for a while. Ankle still stiff. Physical therapist telling me I have to do more stretches throughout the day in order to walk with boot. To be honest, not too impressed with this place, but it's what's covered under my insurance. So just will continue going for the next 4-5 times and then revisit doctor for his suggestions.

And last a little humor:
