Pandemic Edition April 17, 2020

1. Days are all kind of blending into the same. Yet, I'm glad I live in a state where a governor has stepped up and is actually trying to do something with this pandemic.

2. Today tRump tweeted this:

Then right after he tweeted this, right-wing protesters protested in front of Mineesota governor's home. And if you read that first tweet, it implies that Virginia will take away their guns.

This is frightening.

And yet nothing still isn't being done.

3. Here's a link to the protesters:

Friday morning, President Donald Trump responded to a planned protest at the Minnesota Governor's Residence over the state's 'stay at home' order aimed at combating COVID-19.
The president tweeted, "LIBERATE MINNESOTA," which is the name used by the event's organizers on social media.

Protesters gathered in front of the governor's residence Friday afternoon. Footage from Chopper 5, which flew above, showed hundreds gathered at the location.
On Facebook, the group planning the protests says, "Thousands of lives are being destroyed right now. It is not the governor's place to restrict free movement of Minnesota citizens! Gov. Walz you work for the citizens of this state! Minnesota's economy must be reopened for business or destroying the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Minnesota citizens and their families may result if we don't act quickly!"
Trump also tweeted about similar movements in other states.
Prior to Friday's event, protesters gathered in front of Gov. Walz's home in St. Paul Thursday to urge the governor to reopen the state and businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Protesters with Live Free MN waved signs saying "land of the free" and "freedom over fear" at cars as they passed by the residence on Summit Avenue.

4. Today's news on recent deaths as of today:

U.S. Covid-19 Deaths Surge to New Record High as 4,500+People Die in 24 hours.

5. Exciting news from YA author Rachel Hawkins:

Trying to find some humor for today, but it's hard. Instead I'll post a link to actor Patrick Stewart reading Shakespeare. Something calming about this:
